Brake

I finally got a chance to take the drum brake off and inspect it. The lining is close to the rivets on one side and will need to be relined or the shoes replaced. There is no mark on the drum so I caught it in time. I still don’t know what this brake drum came off of but I am now convinced it is British since it has a 5/16-26 BSC thread on the actuating pivot bolt and 1/4-26 BSC threads on the cable adjuster. I threaded an Albion B 16 clutch cable adjuster into the adjuster mount for the picture. The shoes measure 6″ diameter x 1″ wide. The shoes are worn crooked since the anti rotation bracket is not lined up very well with the drum backing plate. It will be easy to straighten it.
